It is necessary to file a properly prepared application for an industrial design in Ukrpatent and pay the fee.
A formal examination is conducted on the application for an industrial design. As a result, Ukrpatent sends a decision to grant a patent (or a preliminary refusal). If the decision is positive, the state fee is paid for the patent issuance and the fee for publication, after which the applicant receives a patent for the industrial design. The period of an industrial design patent validity is 10 years from the date of filing an application provided that an annual fee is paid every year for maintaining the patent in force. This period can be extended for another 5 years.

Also it is necessary to give a power of attorney to the patent attorney (not to notarize).
